Multan Sultans on Wednesday picked David Willey in the first pick of the platinum category during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 drafting ceremony.
Following the World Cup debacle, Willey decided to bid farewell to international cricket, playing a key role in England’s 93-run victory in their last group match at the World Cup.

Separately, Peshawar Zalmi wicketkeeper Mohammad Haris said on Tuesday that he was excited to take part in the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Speaking to media in Lahore, Haris said: "Peshawar Zalmi will try to play with the same attitude as they are known for. The Zalmi are known to keep their form intact in every edition of the PSL."
Haris, who was among the retained players in the PSL 9, hoped that Peshawar would also get the opportunity to host the PSL matches in the upcoming editions.
He said that his franchise will try to pick up quality bowlers ahead of the next edition of the domestic premium tournament.
The wicketkeeper expressed his wish to lock horns with the two-time PSL winners, Lahore Qalandars, in PSL 2024.
